SargaJet® and SargaMap Reduce your sargassum collection costs by 50-90%

SargaJet® is a patented offshore collection system designed to collect large volumes quickly at low cost, and can interface with SargaMap to identify and, above all, precisely forecast the location or beaching of sargassum in a given area. SargaMap further reduces logistics costs through earlier, proportionate mobilization of collection resources.

The problem

Strandings are expensive because they are treated too late

Once stranded, sargassum is more difficult to remove, often mixed with sand, and requires repeated interventions on the beach. For hotels, communities and operators, this means high costs, emergency organization and a degraded coastal experience.

Recurring costs

Labor, machinery, transport, repeated interventions.

Degraded coastline

Nuisance for users, image of the site affected, sand collected during beach collections.

Organization undergone

Interventions often decided urgently, depending on the arrival of sargassum.

What SargaJet® changes

Collect at sea, before stranding

The SargaJet® is designed to capture sargassum before it runs aground, increase the available volumes and significantly reduce the cost per tonne collected.

1

SargaMap locates aggregations

Sargassum patches at sea are identified and monitored.

2

The boat tows the SargaJet®

A standard boat tows the structure towards the layers.

3

The nets fill continuously and automatically

Collection happens while moving, at high volume, without constant intervention on each net.

4

The full fillets are then recovered

The biomass is brought ashore for management or valorization.

For whom?

A solution for those who manage strandings

01

Beachfront hotels and resorts

Reduce collection costs, preserve the customer experience and limit heavy interventions on the beach.

02

Coastal communities

Manage a beach area with a solution that can be shared, mobile and compatible with a circular valorization logic.

03

Beach management foundations

Protect a site while limiting soil aggression, the passage of heavy machinery and the removal of sand.

04

Collection operators

Increase collection capacity, reduce marginal cost and offer a more competitive service.

The promise in numbers

Performance designed to reduce operational costs

50–90 %
reduction in collection costs
Compared to existing solutions, under identical conditions of density and sea state.
60–360
sargassum collected per day
Depending on the configuration. For larger volumes, several SargaJets operated at the same time multiply performance.

Performance depends on the configuration, the density of the slicks, the state of the sea, the local organization and the current collection method. The personalized estimate makes it possible to specify the real potential site by site.

SargaMap + SargaJet®

Anticipate arrivals, then act in the right place

SargaMap helps to locate aggregations of sargassum at sea and to better organize interventions. Combined with SargaJet®, it allows you to move from imposed management to more controlled management.

Built for the terrain

A low‑tech, robust and mobile system

01

No additional engine

Towed by the boat, without its own motorization.

02

No onboard electronics

No sensitive parts on board the structure.

03

Lightweight, mobile and quick to deploy

Transportable from one site to another by road with a simple van, or from one coastal area to another at more than 10 knots.

04

Reusable and reloadable nets

Designed for multiple collection cycles, with reloading possible at sea when all nets have been used.

05

Portable by two people

Two people are enough to simplify launch, recovery and short moves.

06

Reduced environmental footprint

Recyclable, reconditionable or reintegrable into a circular economy depending on the components, SargaJet® generates less CO2 per tonne collected than mechanized offshore collection systems or artisanal side-scoop methods.

SargaJet®'s low‑tech design limits sensitive parts, simplifies use, reduces maintenance constraints and supports lean field operations.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The SargaJet® intervenes upstream, at sea, before stranding. It can complement existing systems and reduce the need for heavy interventions on the beach.
The SargaJet® is designed to be towed by a standard boat adapted to the intervention area.
Depending on the configuration, the SargaJet® can collect between 60 and 360 m³ of fresh sargassum per day, the equivalent of 10 to 60 drained tonnes.
SargaMap is included with the SargaJet®. It is also accessible separately, by subscription, for players who first wish to improve their anticipation.
Savings depend on your current method, volumes, stranding frequency, local organization and recommended configuration.
The SargaJet® is offered as an annual leasing model. The material remains the property of Sargawatt, with training and support included.
